Nizwa Fort was built during the reign of Imam Sultan bin Saif bin Malik Al-Yarubi (1649-1679 AD) at the beginning of the eleventh century AH / mid-seventeenth century AD and it took twelve years to build, and it is a large circular building built with stones and plaster Omani (Sarooj), with a height of 34 m and a diameter of 45 m, which serves as a flat platform on the surface of the base filled with stones 15 m high and is said 30 m to the ground, equipped with cannon holes and the ascent to the castle is done by a narrow ladder In the shape of the letter (H) where there are seven doors, and at each door a turn overlooking these doors defensive openings
